A LIFETIME HONOR: Receiving Noam Chomsky North Star Gold Medal Lifetime Achievement Award
I am deeply honored and humbled to have been awarded the prestigious Noam Chomsky North Star Gold Medal Lifetime Achievement Award at the International Conference organized by Kathmandu University and STR Scholars Network.
Receiving an award named after Noam Chomsky, one of the most transformative thinkers of our time, is both an inspiration and a reminder of the responsibility we carry as academicians and advocates for truth, justice, and environmental and social sustainability. Chomsky’s unwavering commitment to critical thinking, intellectual integrity, and social responsibility has always been a guiding light in my journey, and this honor strengthens my resolve to continue contributing meaningfully to the world in the arena of international environmentalism and climate emergency.
This moment would not have been possible without the endorsement and intellectual support of friends, and colleagues. To my peers and the global academic community, this award is a shared triumph, a testament to the collective pursuit of knowledge and genuine effort to address the challenges of our time, the environmental and climate crisis in Anthropocene.
As I reflect on this achievement, I am filled with renewed energy to further explore and promote the ideas that have been central to my work, especially in the realms of international environmentalism and sustainability, ecosociocentirc ethics, and human development. I hope this recognition serves as a reminder to all of us of the critical role intellectual inquiry and action play in shaping a more equitable, compassionate, and environmentally and socially sustainable future.
